    Brief Description

    Foothills is seeking a Tactical Controller responsible for overseeing day to day finance functions of the business. The incumbent will provide management and Clinic Directors with hands-on accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting necessary for budgetary, monthly and annual reporting, cash flow and budget forecasting and financial decision making support. 

    Essential Job Functions

    • Lead and create budgeting and forecasting with all Clinic Directors for individual clinics
    • Lead and create annual corporate shared services budgeting
    • Responsible for all KPI’s and financial expectations including P&L
    • Ambassador for all Foothills and ProActive corporate goals and expectations
    • Senior oversight and reporting line for all CD’s in regard to growth and financials
    • Leading day to day operations in regard to all finance including budgeting for the upkeep and
    • maintenance of all clinics
    • Responsibility for accounting and QuickBooks accounting systems
    • Oversight responsibility for movement of funds to and from the clinics and corporate shared services
    • Ensures bank accounts are controlled and reconciled
    • Creation of shared expense and maintenance
    • Statistics Management – Financial
      • Timely preparation and roll-out of monthly financials to all clinics and CEO
      • Monthly preparation of statistics for all clinics for CD review
      • Month end close reporting to CEO
      • Provide information on a monthly and annual basis
    • Responsible for quarterly incentive compensation calculations
    • Responsible for assessing financial impacts of proposed benefit plan and insurance coverages during renewal process
    • Create financial profile for all De-Novo
    • First line of leadership on all De-Novo’s
    • Preparation for annual De-Novo targets and growth goals
    • Work on acquisitions integration team in order to ensure a smooth transition of new clinics into the Foothills brand and understand their financial responsibilities
    • Lead cap ex budgeting for new acquisitions
    • Responsible for auditing of corporate credit card activity on a monthly basis
    • Responsible for corporate compliance with filing requirements, e.g. W9’s and 1099’s
    • Develop accounting policies and procedures as needed and warranted by business changes
    • Work as vendor management for adequate tracking of vendor invoices / purchasing department
    • Work with HR to identify and implement a new accounting system that works in conjunction with a new payroll system
    • Collaborate with IT department for purpose of establishing a financial dashboard


    • Thorough knowledge of GAAP compliant accounting processes and principles
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills dealing with a diverse range of people
    • Proficient accounting experience, including account analysis/reconciliation, timely monthly close techniques and familiarity with reporting
    • Ability to influence others and implement appropriate change for the organization
    • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions
    • Ability to act with integrity in regards to all matters of confidentiality
    • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and independent judgment in solving problems
    • Knowledge of accepted business techniques and of managing a health-related business
    • Ability to work flexible schedule

    Minimum Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent is required
    • Minimum 8-years experience in accounting and/or finance
    • CPA is preferred
    • Membership in an accredited professional organization is preferred
    • Efficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional work environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners and photocopiers. This position will also perform duties in a physical therapy clinic setting where noise can be moderate to heavy.
